A special event was organized for the presentation of the new fragrance L’Eau Papier by Diptyque, at the 10AM LOFTS venue. Creativity takes shape, and the purity of black and white prevailing everywhere. Inspired by this relationship, Aria’s creative team, in collaboration with its executive chefs, curated the menu and presentation of the event, guided by the minimalist aesthetic and philosophy of black & white.
Perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin explains the vision for L’Eau Papier: “I started with a material, a seed – specifically, sesame, in the form of an extract from roasted sesame seeds. This is the surprise element of the fragrance: I chose it to evoke the particular scent of ink and to add a delicate ‘flavor’ to the fragrance. I enhanced it by working with musk notes to intensify its sensual side. Then, I added flowery mimosa notes with a noble, powdery character, complementing the soft note of paper. The uniqueness of the cereal and ink accords, mixed with the sweetness of white musk, creates the scent of paper – and this combination defines the fragrance. I tried to convey the discreet, sensitive interaction that occurs when ink touches paper, through an overdose of musks.”
So, we couldn’t help but take these elements and incorporate them into the menu, aiming for the ultimate sensory experience.
Guests from the media enjoyed small bites of roast beef with asparagus and tartare sauce, prawn medallions with black sesame, roasted duck with vegetables and damson cream, cheese balls with black & white sesame, éclair with chocolate & ginger, and vanilla-filled macarons. The contrast to the black and white concept was provided by the mimosa, adding a note of color and freshness with its characteristic yellow hue.
