On Thursday 1st December at 19.00 the Christmas World of the SNFCC comes to life through a glamorous celebration, hosted by actress Nadia Kontogeorgis. All areas are decorated with thousands of lights, the lighting installations transform the Stavros Niarchos Park into a dreamlike setting, the lit Christmas trees take over the Agora and the festive light sneaks into every part of the building with music travelling with it. The SNFCC Ice Rink opens its doors and awaits the ice skaters to dance on the ice. The Fountains are dancing in the Canal full of colour and imagination, while Santa Claus is waiting to welcome each and every child individually by giving away colourful balloons.
For yet another year, visitors of all ages saw the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC) turn into a bright place of celebration during a glamorous event. With thousands of Christmas lights, three tall decorated fir trees, stunning performances from the Fountains in the Canal, five light installations in the Stavros Niarchos Park, and of course festive songs from the Children’s Choir of the National Opera House, as well as a special (sing-along) concert with Marina Satti’s Chorus and the company of eight male voices and musicians, under the musical direction of the American maestro, composer and director of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, Francisco J. Núñez
Aria Fine catering was present, launching a Christmas Pop Up station in the outdoor area of the Cultural Centre, serving a variety of drinks and snacks. At ‘XMAS BAR BAR’ both young and grown-ups can enjoy delicious Hot dog, Green burger with falafel and Red burger with beef burger, hot pumpkin soup with croutons and mushroom soup, steamy Glühwein and hot chocolate.
