The Educational & Social Activities of the National Opera, in collaboration with Mr Eugenios Trivizas, brought the magical world of fairy tales back to life for thirteen children, who spent a magical night at the opera house on Saturday, November 12, 2022. For the second year, the National Opera invited its young friends to its facilities at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre for a unique experience full of opera, colours, imagination and fairy delicacies.
On the evening of Saturday, November 12, 2022, the passionate fan of opera, Horatio Operatic, once again returned to the National Opera House to take the young visitors on a tour of the theatre’s secrets. He was accompanied by some of the iconic figures of the operatic repertoire, such as Carmen, Madama Butterfly and Don Giovanni, and all together that afternoon they wandered around the premises of the National Opera House. The children had the unique opportunity to witness behind the curtains part of the official premiere of The Magic Pillows, performed with the dancers in the ballet rehearsal room, visited the impressive and colourful dressing room, participated in a musical-movement game. The evening ended with an unexpected visit by the very own Eugenios Trivizas and the narration of a charming fairy tale by him.
The 13 children enjoyed a unique dinner inspired by Eugenios Trivizas himself, which was executed by the experienced and crative team of Aria fine Catering. The fairy-tale menu included, among other things: a Snowflake milkshake, Foam of the Ocean of Jasmine, Star Sandwiches, soup made from glowing fireflies, chrysanthemum salad, rice pudding made from the milk of the Galaxy and other wonderful delicacies in a place straight out of a fairy tale.
